CCPA Compliance

Nightingale Crypto is committed to respecting your rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and its amendment, the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA). This page explains how these laws apply to our informational website and how you can exercise your rights.

Scope and Applicability

The CCPA/CPRA applies to California residents who are consumers of businesses that collect personal information. While Nightingale Crypto does not sell or share personal information for monetary gain, we may collect certain data automatically through website analytics and cookies. This page outlines how we handle such data in compliance with California law.

Your Rights Under CCPA/CPRA

As a California resident, you have the following rights:

  • Right to Know: You may request details about the categories and specific pieces of personal information we have collected about you in the past 12 months.
  • Right to Delete: You may request deletion of your personal information we have collected, subject to certain exceptions.
  • Right to Opt-Out of Sale or Sharing: You may opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information. While we do not sell personal information for monetary consideration, we may use cookies and analytics tools that involve data sharing with service providers. You may exercise this right via the link below.
  • Right to Non-Discrimination: We will not deny you services, charge different prices, or provide a different quality of service because you exercised your CCPA/CPRA rights.
  • Right to Limit Use of Sensitive Personal Information: You may request to limit our use of sensitive personal information, such as precise geolocation data, if collected.

How We Comply

Nightingale Crypto is an informational blog with no user registration, accounts, or databases storing personal identifiers. We do not collect names, email addresses, or other direct identifiers unless voluntarily submitted through our contact form. Any data collected is limited to:

  • IP addresses (anonymized in analytics)
  • Browser type and device information
  • Usage patterns via Google Analytics (with IP anonymization enabled)
  • Cookies for functionality and performance (no tracking cookies for advertising)

We do not sell or share personal information with third parties for targeted advertising. We use service providers (e.g., analytics platforms) under contracts that prohibit them from selling your data.

Data We Process

Under CCPA/CPRA, the personal information we may process includes:

  • Internet or other electronic network activity information (e.g., pages visited, time spent)
  • Device identifiers and browser characteristics
  • Geolocation data (approximate, derived from IP address)

We do not collect: names, addresses, email addresses, phone numbers, financial account numbers, or government identifiers.

Legal Basis for Processing

Our processing of data is based on legitimate interests: improving website functionality, analyzing traffic to enhance user experience, and ensuring site security. We do not rely on consent for these purposes under CCPA/CPRA, but we honor opt-out requests.

How to Exercise Your Rights

To exercise your CCPA/CPRA rights, please contact us via email at [email protected] with the subject line: "CCPA Request". Include your full name and California residency confirmation (e.g., ZIP code). We may verify your identity using the email address you provide or by matching your request with information you’ve previously submitted through our contact form.

You may also designate an authorized agent to make a request on your behalf. The agent must provide written proof of authorization and verify their own identity.

Response Timeframes

We will respond to your request within 45 days of receipt. If we require additional time, we will notify you within the initial 45-day period and explain the reason for the delay. We will not take longer than 90 days total to respond.

No Discrimination Policy

We will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights under the CCPA/CPRA. You will not be denied access to our content, charged different rates, or given lower quality service because you opted out of data sharing or requested deletion.

Updates and Changes

We may update this CCPA Compliance page periodically to reflect changes in law or our practices. Any material changes will be posted here with an updated "Last Updated" date.
